Round the World Flights
If you're thinking of taking a gap year one of the first things you will do is book your flights.
There are hundreds of options out there for you to choose from - including multi-stop round the world tickets with airlines such as BA and Qantas, which can often include internal flights in popular backpacker destinations such as Australia and New Zealand.
An example of a popular round-the world route is: London - Bangkok - Perth - Sydney - Auckland - Fiji - Los Angeles - Vancouver - London
Or for a more adventurous itinerary how about: London - Delhi - Bangkok - Ho Chi Minh - Tokyo - Sydney - Santiago - Lima - Rio - New York - London
Make sure you shop around to find the best deal that also takes you to your favoured destinations. Don't miss out on your dream destination, though, for the sake of a few quid. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Offset your carbon emissions

Taking a round the world flight is not going to be the most environmentally friendly thing you do in your life. You can make yourself feel better about the amount of carbon emissions your flights will produce by using a reputable company, such as Climate Care, to offset them.
The Climate Care website has a carbon offset calculator which will work out how much you should donate to them for carbon reduction projects in order to offset the emissions from your travels. Click here for more information. |
